The 1956 Olympic Totem by Franco Albini, Franca Helg, and Albe Steiner becomes a manifesto for peace.
Franco Albini Foundation and Studio Albini Associati are reviving a symbol in Milan. And they're doing so at a time when the world seems to need it most. A project that draws on Design and Art to generate an expansive wave of support for rhythm. From March 12 to April 30, 2026, at the Fabbrica del Vapore, "Cerchi di Pace" (Peace Circles) will take shape.
A five-meter-high installation that recreates the full-scale Olympic Totem designed in 1956 by Franco Albini, Franca Helg, and Albe Steiner for the 1956 Cortina Winter Olympics. For seventy years, it was a photograph of a model kept in the Albini Foundation archive. Today, it becomes a monument and a symbolic space to be traversed.

Marco Fusinato returns to Italy after representing Australia at the 59th Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte della Biennale in Venice with his first European monographic exhibition, which brings together some of his most significant works from recent years. The exhibition features a collection of works in which visual art and noise music merge, giving rise to installations with a strong visual impact and sensory engagement. For the occasion, Desastres, the impressive performance piece presented at the Venice Biennale in 2022, will be reprised: an immersive experience in which images and sounds merge to create a total audiovisual landscape. An unmissable event to discover one of the most original and innovative voices in contemporary art and performance, offering the public an unforgettable experience.
As an artist, he conceives his work as a succession of interrelated projects, some of which continue across numerous iterations. Within these projects the works are almost always serial and use specific frameworks for experimentation. As a musician, he explores the idea of noise as music, using the electric guitar and mass amplification to improvise intricate, wide-ranging, and physically affecting frequencies.

On the occasion of the Milano Art Week and the Milano Design Week, Istituto Svizzero presents the first solo institutional exhibition in Italy by artist Romane de Watteville (1993, Lausanne). The exhibition specifically designed for the spaces of Istituto Svizzero in Milan features an immersive installation of painted walls guides us through the time following the end of a party, evoking a sense of excess that gradually gives way to entropy.

Mega Art Fair aims to give an alternative narrative to the consolidated gallery exhibition and art fair dynamics in terms of time and space. It wants to create a shared platform, an artistic lounge for encounter and socialisation within the art system, encouraging opportunities for work and dialogue between collectors and art world professionals. MEGA has been conceived by BeAdvisors Art Department and Mattia Pozzoni Art Advisory as a social space for art, where people gather to chat, have a drink, listen to music and talks, connecting artists, gallery owners, and curators with the audience.
Open until late every day, MEGA provides an exceptional experience, leveraging a moment of visibility for the exhibited artists, the participating galleries and the whole artistic and creative system. The extended opening hours also speak of the inclusion of broader demographics compared to traditional art fair and exhibition models, allowing art to reach audiences who haven’t been engaged in the right way.
Mega Art Fair changes its venue every year, inhabiting a reclaimed space and contributes to revitalising an urban redevelopment project in the heart of Milan, working closely with the neighbourhood and its inhabitants.

BacteriArt, from invisible to visible is a project by NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, now in its 4th edition. The initiative offers students an educational pathway focused on the conception and realization of an exhibition within the Milan campus, exploring the world of bacteria through a longstanding collaboration with Yakult.
This year’s concept, centered on the Gut–Brain Axis, has guided the development of immersive and site-specific installations, emerging from an ongoing dialogue with internationally renowned artists and curators. The program has unfolded through seminars and studio visits with Remo Salvadori, Clara Hastrup, Jenna Sutela, and Fiammetta Griccioli, offering students direct engagement with contemporary artistic practices and theoretical perspectives.

After being sacred, art becomes a "sagra": during Milano Art Week, a new art square is created at the UFO space in Via Orobia 26, featuring convivial tables, darts, card tournaments, bocce, table football, and ping pong, concerts, and prices far from the Milanese standard. Is it possible to recreate a village square in Milan, where professionals and enthusiasts can meet without taking themselves too seriously?
Arte Sagra is an event promoted by Fondazione ICA, Associazione Arte Continua, UFO, SpaceDelicious, and Cucù.
Victoria Comstock-Kershaw (FETCH London Magazine) moderates a conversation exploring how digital tools are reshaping the art world. Together with our partners, ARTSVP, Artquire and First Thursday, the discussion will address new platforms, technologies, and models that are transforming how art is accessed, collected, and experienced.
We look forward to welcoming you.

Fondazione Elpis will host a special event in the Lavanderia spaces on the occasion of the exhibition Smooth Operator by Villiam Miklos Andersen, curated by Gabriele Tosi. The event,
conceived by Coriandoli, will unfold as a morning program combining music, spoken word, and performance: a DJ set will accompany a lecture performance and a series of performative
interventions developed in dialogue with the exhibition and the Lavanderia space. An informal opening that introduces the exhibition through unexpected presences, eccentric gestures, and unforeseen trajectories. Breakfast will be offered to the public during the morning.
With the title New Directions—a nod to Coltrane’s seminal 1963 album and a true declaration of intent—miart 2026 embraces a metamorphosis that touches every layer of its identity: from curatorial approach to its dialogue with galleries, from visual identity to the very way visitors experience the fair.
Symbolically marking this new evolutionary phase, miart is changing location and moving to the South Wing of Allianz MiCo: an architecturally international space adjacent to the fair’s historic pavilion and overlooking the contemporary park of CityLife — an urban landscape that becomes a metaphor for openness and vision, expanding, welcoming, listening: an exhibition spacelike a musical score, ready to be interpreted in a new way, between experimentation and belonging, between the new and the recognizable.
Inside the exhibition complex, spread over three levels, the historic sections are confirmed: Emergent and Established, which this year is enriched by a new selection of exhibition projects called Established Anthology.
Anselm Kiefer in conversation with Natacha Fabbri
Curated by Gabirella belli
Running parallel to The Women Alchemists, which Kiefer conceived for the Sala delle Cariatidi at Palazzo Reale (open through September 2026), the exhibition at Lia Rumma further expands his continued research of the “alchemists,” delving deeper into the role of other female heroines who, over
the centuries, made fundamental contributions to modern science through alchemy. Joining this female pantheon, painted by Kiefer, are mythological figures such as the muses Calliope and Melpomene, daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne. The exhibition title evokes a poem by 19 th century Japanese poet,
Buddhist nun, and ceramist Ōtagaki Rengetsu—to whom Kiefer also dedicates a painting which is presented at the overture of the exhibition.

For the third consecutive year, Istituto Svizzero and Mousse invite the Milan Art Week community to spend Friday evening together with a project that intertwines their respective practices. After After Party offers a screening and live programme, co-curated around a common thread that connects Romane de Watteville's exhibition I will miss you when I scroll away at Istituto Svizzero, with the editorial line of Mousse magazine. After After Party looks at the moment that follows collective celebration, approaching the party as a ritual that unites around loss as well as joy. This
year also marks the twentieth anniversary of Mousse.

“Rebecca”: the exhibition by Benni Bosetto at Pirelli HangarBicocca
Curated by Fiammetta Griccioli, “Rebecca” is the Italian artist’s first major institutional exhibition. The title is inspired by the 1938 novel of the same name by English writer and playwright Daphne du Maurier (1907–1989). In the novel, the real protagonist is a house that preserves the memory of a deceased woman named Rebecca, who lived there.

From April 20–26, 2026, Alcova returns for its eleventh edition, unfolding across two extraordinary sites that each, in their own way, capture the essence of Milan’s urban identity.
We’ll be opening up new, unseen spaces within the Baggio Military Hospital, a vast, verdant complex in the Primaticcio district, originally designed in the post-WW1 era. Our second site will be the legendary Villa Pestarini by Franco Albini, the only villa designed by the great pioneer of Italian rationalist architecture in Milan. Today a private residence, it has never before been accessible to the public.
