WHAT FACES DO NOT SAY

All day · Feb 4 – 9

La Taverne

What faces do not say is a group exhibition curated by Yasmin Sarnefors and produced by OFF Record, featuring works by Ibrahim Meïté Sikely, Lassana Sarre, Mohamed Saïd Chair, Nadjib Ben Ali, Chama Bekri, El Hadi Fekrouni, Yasmine Laraqui, Beau Disundi Nzazi, and Nyaba Léon Ouedraogo. The project explores human presence, memory, and transformation beyond fixed identities, focusing on gestures, matter, and traces. Set within a previously closed space at La Taverne, one of the oldest restaurants in Guéliz, Marrakech, the intimate setting—removed from traditional exhibition circuits—encourages a close and attentive encounter with the works. OFF Record is a curatorial and art advisory laboratory founded by Yasmin Sarnefors, developing projects attentive to place and its histories, and activating atypical spaces as sites of artistic encounter.

A Gesture From Elsewhere - Private opening with a performance beginning at sunset

All day

Palais de Bahia

The project brings together ten emerging artists from Morocco and West Africa to explore the circulation, translation, and transformation of gestures — whether artistic, social, or poetic. Each work investigates forms of memory that are not written, but transmitted through the body, materials, and practices. Some of these works took shape during a production residency held in Casablanca in September, dedicated to West African artists and organized by the association Beaux-Arts Solidarité Maroc, thus extending the dialogue between local creation and trans-African dynamics. The exhibition has been initiated by Ilyass Alami Afilal – BASMA, is curated by Farah Maakel with a scenography by Yasmina Echair. Artists included: Tesprit, Yanis Ratbi, Xaadim Mbow, Mariam Niaré, Fatine Arafati, Issam Fariane, Soukaina Bouali, Theophany Adoh, Sarah Mounia Kachiri, Melanie Ebtissem Defoin.

In between Blues

All day

DaDa

In Between Blues is a large scale artistic and cultural project, presented at DaDa Marrakech from 24 January to 30 March 2026, in official partnership with the 1-54 Marrakech fair. This strategic collaboration places the project at the heart of the most significant gathering of the contemporary African art market, offering exceptional visibility to collectors, curators, and international institutions. Conceived as a constellation of experiences centred on the colour blue—pigment of the soul, living memory, and a symbol of connection, fluidity, and resilience—In Between Blues brings together contemporary art, music, gastronomy, transmission, and spirituality. The project is led by ABLAKASSA, an independent platform founded by Ivorian designer Jean Servais Somian and Franco Rwandan curator Roger Niyigena Karera. It champions a transversal approach, creating spaces where art becomes a vector for transformation, exchange, and hospitality. Schedule: VIP Evening: 4 February 2026 Symposium and Talks: 6–7 February 2026

Lumières by Mustapha Azeroual at Maison Denise Masson

4:30 PM

Maison Denise Masson

Institut français – Marrakech presents for the first time a solo exhibition of Franco-Moroccan artist Mustapha Azeroual (1979), at the Maison Denise Masson – maison du dialogue, in the heart of the Medina. A unique figure on the contemporary art scene, the artist explores through his work the relationship between art and science. He investigates light, time, and perception through experimental photographic processes. By merging historical techniques with contemporary innovations, he creates immersive and sensorial works. His research places him at the center of current reflections on the image and its materiality, questioning at once the relationship between the tangible and the intangible, the mechanisms of perception, and the notion of innovation in the act of creation.
