# Contrepoint contemporain: Vija Celmins

Part of the museum's "contemporary counterpoint" series, this exhibition shows Vija Celmins's drawings, paintings, prints and wood engravings from 1971 to 2000. Her subjects are oceans, deserts, night skies and snow. The works hang in the pronaos and contemporary room, in dialogue with Monet's Water Lilies.

It is shown with 22 painted photographs, made with Swiss photographer Rolf Schröter, documenting its making.
