# Alice Diop – Geste de Consolation (presented by Miu Miu)

Filmmaker Alice Diop's first exhibition, commissioned by Miu Miu, leads visitors through four spaces on acts of consolation by Black women artists. It combines film, photography, sculpture, readings, dance and music, with Diop's video installation and Simone Leigh's bronze *Sentinel (Mami Wata)*. Admission is free.

Geste de Consolation is filmmaker Alice Diop's first exhibition, commissioned by Miu Miu as Art Basel Paris Public Program Official Partner: a guided path through four spaces centred on acts of consolation by Black women artists, mixing film, photography, sculpture, readings, dance and music. It includes contributions by Zanele Muholi and Mary Lee Bendolph, a video installation by Diop, performances by Nadia Beugré, Angel Bat Dawid and Sistazz of the Nitty-Gritty, and Simone Leigh's bronze Sentinel (Mami Wata). Free admission.

A group exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo, forming part of its autumn season *Tous les feux, les fleurs*. It brings together artists and collectives working outside cities, in rural areas, mountains and islands including the Cévennes, Corsica, Guadeloupe and the Basque Country. Around twenty works are shown, many newly produced.

It also follows her return visits over four decades, tracing how the images reappeared on murals, T-shirts and stamps, and finding the people pictured.

A museum exhibition of recent 16mm work by experimental filmmaker Rose Lowder at Palais de Tokyo. It features a projection of *La Source de la Loire* (2019–2021) and twenty one-minute "bouquet" films shot in biodiversity-preserving gardens in southern France and northern Italy. François Piron curated it.
